Arunachal Pradesh CM Joins Bihu Celebration In Itanagar, Shows His Dance Moves

The chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu on Friday 22 April joined the Assamese community in Itanagar for the celebration of the Bihu festival. CM Pema Khandu has been gaining massive attention through his dance moves in the Bihu celebration which has impressed many. The chief minister was seen performing along with a Bihu team at his residence in Itanagar during the celebration of the Assamese major festival. On Friday, CM Khandu took to his Twitter account to express his happiness over joining the Bihu celebration and attempting the Bihu dance moves. He also shared a video clip from the Bihu event showing his Bihu dance moves because of which he is receiving massive applause from netizens. In the tweet, he wrote, “My attempt at Bihu dance moves, Joined the Assamese community of Itanagar for Bihu festival at my residence”. On mentioning about the cultural bond between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh CM Khandu wrote “May such spirit of celebration re-kindling age-old cultural bond between the two states continue to thrive forever.” It may be mentioned that Bohag Bihu is an important Assamese festival celebrated mainly in Assam during the second week of April. This year Bohag Bihu which marks the beginning of the new year along with the harvest season was observed by the Assamese people from 14 April to 16 April. However, the celebration is not yet over as several Bihu events are organized after the Bihu and it is an important part of the festival every year. People from the community take part in various traditional dancing and singing groups that travel to different regions for performing Bihu. Male and female are seen dancing the traditional Bihu dance wearing the traditional Bihu dress.
